Ingredients

  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
  • ΒΌ cup soyaki sauce store-bought or homemade
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil for frying
  • Chopped green onions for garnish
  • Sesame seeds optional, for garnish

Equipment

  • Skillet or frying pan
  • Cutting board
  • Knife
  • Small bowl (for mixing sauce)
  • Spoon or whisk (for stirring the sauce)
  • Tongs or spatula (for turning the chicken)

Method

  1. Prep the Chicken: Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces for quicker cooking and even coating with the sauce.
  2. Cook the Chicken: Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces and cook for 6-7 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  3. Make the Soyaki Sauce: In a small bowl, mix together the soyaki sauce, honey, garlic, and sesame oil. Stir well to combine.
  4. Combine: Once the chicken is cooked, pour the soyaki sauce mixture into the skillet with the chicken. Stir to coat the chicken evenly and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and the chicken absorbs the flavor.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds (if desired). Serve immediately with your choice of sides.

Notes

  • For a sweeter flavor, feel free to add more honey or a splash of brown sugar.
  • If you prefer a spicier version, add red pepper flakes or chili paste to the sauce.
  • You can substitute chicken thighs for breasts for a juicier, richer flavor.
  • For meal prep, store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Serve with steamed rice, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
