- In a saucepan, add 2 cups of water, ginger, crushed cardamom, cloves, and mint or basil leaves (if using). Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Once boiling, add the tea leaves and reduce the heat. Let it simmer for 3-5 minutes, depending on how strong you want the tea.
- Add milk if you prefer a creamy version, and let the tea simmer for another minute or two.
Add sugar to taste and stir until it dissolves completely.- Strain the tea into a cup and serve hot.
Notes
- You can adjust the sweetness according to your preference, or replace sugar with honey or jaggery.
- If you don’t have mint or basil, you can try using other herbs like lemongrass for a refreshing twist.
- For a stronger flavor, let the tea brew for a few extra minutes, but avoid overbrewing to prevent bitterness.
