Ingredients

  • For the Salmon:
  • 2 salmon fillets around 6 oz each
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: garlic powder paprika, or lemon zest for added flavor
  • For the Hot Honey Sauce:
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes or more for extra heat
  • 1 tablespoon water to adjust consistency, optional

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Small saucepan (for the hot honey sauce)
  • Tongs or spatula
  • Small bowl (for mixing the hot honey sauce)

Method

  1. Prep the Salmon: Brush both sides of the salmon fillets with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. If desired, sprinkle some garlic powder, paprika, or lemon zest for extra flavor.
  2. Cook the Salmon: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Place the salmon fillets in the air fryer basket, skin-side down, and cook for 8-10 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets, until the salmon is fully cooked and crispy on the outside.
  3. Make the Hot Honey Sauce: While the salmon is cooking, combine the honey and chili flakes in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir until the mixture is smooth and heated through. If the sauce is too thick, you can add a tablespoon of water to thin it out to your desired consistency.
  4. Drizzle and Serve: Once the salmon is cooked, carefully remove it from the air fryer. Drizzle the hot honey sauce generously over the salmon fillets and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Adjusting the Spice: If you prefer a milder sauce, reduce the amount of chili flakes. Alternatively, you can add more for a spicier kick.
  • Storage: Leftover salmon can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2-3 days. Reheat in the air fryer for a few minutes to restore the crispiness.
  • Serving Suggestions: Serve the hot honey salmon with a side of roasted vegetables, rice, or a simple green salad for a balanced meal.
  • Health Tip: Salmon is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which are beneficial for heart health, making this dish both nutritious and flavorful.
