Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm pineapple juice about 110°F
  • 3 tablespoons butter softened
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup dry milk
  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast

Equipment

  • Bread machine
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • A mixing spoon (optional, for adjustments)
  • Bread knife (for slicing)
  • Cooling rack (optional)

Method

  1. Prepare the Bread Machine: Add the warm pineapple juice into the bread machine pan. Follow with the softened butter and honey. This ensures the wet ingredients are handled first.
  2. Add the Dry Ingredients: Next, add the dry ingredients: bread flour, dry milk, and salt. Ensure the wet ingredients are covered by the flour.
  3. Add the Yeast: Add the yeast on top of the flour, ensuring it doesn't touch the wet ingredients. This keeps the yeast dry until mixing begins.
  4. Set the Bread Machine: Close the lid and set the bread machine to the "sweet bread" or "basic bread" setting. The cycle will take about 2.5 to 3 hours, including kneading, rising, and baking.
  5. Finish and Serve: Once the cycle is complete, remove the bread from the machine. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Yeast Tip: Make sure your yeast is fresh and hasn’t expired to ensure a good rise in the dough.
  • Ingredient Substitutions: You can replace honey with maple syrup or agave for a different flavor profile.
  • Storing Leftovers: Store the bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. You can freeze it for up to 3 months for later use.
  • Add-ins: Feel free to add raisins, shredded coconut, or nuts to enhance the texture and flavor of the bread.
