Frozen Fried Pickles in Air Fryer

Frozen Fried Pickles in Air Fryer

Frozen fried pickles in an air fryer are a quick, healthier alternative to the traditional deep-fried version. With minimal oil and a fast cooking time, you can enjoy crispy, tangy pickles at home in just a few minutes. This recipe is ideal for anyone who loves fried pickles but wants to cut down on calories without sacrificing flavor and texture. The air fryer makes the pickles crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, with a fraction of the oil used in deep frying.

Ingredients

  • 1 bag of frozen fried pickles store-bought
  • Optional: Light oil spray for extra crispiness
  • Optional: Dipping sauces like ranch buffalo sauce, or honey mustard

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Tongs or spatula
  • Small plate or bowl for serving

Method

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer: Set the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and preheat for 3-5 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Frozen Pickles: Remove the frozen fried pickles from the bag. There's no need to thaw them before cooking.
  3. Arrange the Pickles in the Air Fryer Basket: Place the frozen fried pickles in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they aren’t overcrowded. This allows hot air to circulate around them, ensuring even crispiness.
  4. Cook the Pickles: Air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through the cooking time to ensure they are evenly crispy.
  5. Serve: Once the pickles are golden brown and crispy, remove them from the air fryer. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Do Not Overcrowd: For the crispiest fried pickles, avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket. If you need to cook more, do so in batches.
  • Check for Crispiness: Cooking times may vary depending on the size and brand of your air fryer, so check the pickles towards the end of the cooking time. If they aren’t crispy enough, add a couple more minutes.
  • Extra Crispiness: For a crispier texture, lightly spray the pickles with oil before cooking. However, this is optional.
  • Storage: If you have leftovers, store the cooked pickles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. To reheat, place them back in the air fryer for 3-5 minutes at 375°F (190°C).
  • Dipping Sauces: These pickles go well with a variety of sauces such as ranch, spicy ketchup, honey mustard, or creamy dill sauce.
