Ingredients

  • Gluten Free Wonton Wrappers: 12–15 pieces
  • Cream Cheese: 4 oz softened
  • Crab Meat: 4 oz fresh, canned, or imitation
  • Garlic: 1 clove minced
  • Green Onion: 1 finely chopped
  • Gluten Free Soy Sauce or Worcestershire Sauce: 1 tsp
  • Salt and Pepper: to taste
  • Dipping Sauce: Sweet chili sauce gluten free soy sauce, or spicy mayo

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon or fork
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Frying pan / deep fryer / air fryer / oven
  • Parchment paper / tray
  • Pastry brush (optional for egg wash or oil)

Method

  1. Prepare the filling: In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, crab meat, garlic, green onion, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth but slightly chunky. Taste and adjust seasoning.
  2. Wrap the rangoons: Place 1 teaspoon of filling in the center of each wrapper. Fold into triangles or pouches and seal edges with water or egg wash.
  3. Cook the rangoons: Fry: Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry 2–3 minutes until golden brown. Bake: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C), place on parchment, brush with oil, and bake 15–20 minutes. Air Fry: Preheat to 375°F (190°C), cook 10–12 minutes, shaking halfway.
  4. Serve: Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce. Garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

  • Do not overfill wrappers to prevent leaking.
  • Freeze uncooked rangoons on a tray, then transfer to a bag for later use. Cook from frozen.
  • Baked or air-fried versions are healthier than frying.
  • Adjust seasoning in filling to taste.
