  2. Step 2: Add the Cordon Bleu Filling, Spread the chicken mixture into a flat rectangle on parchment paper. Arrange ham slices and cheese evenly in the center, leaving space around the edges. Carefully roll the meat mixture around the filling and seal the edges.
  3. Step 3: Add Topping and Bake, Place the prepared meatloaf into a baking dish. Mix breadcrumbs, melted butter, and shredded cheese, then spread over the top. Bake until the chicken reaches a safe internal temperature and the outside becomes golden.
  4. Step 4: Rest and Serve, Allow the meatloaf to rest for a few minutes before slicing. This helps keep the filling inside and makes each slice look neat. Serve warm with your favorite side dishes.

Notes

  • Use ground chicken with a little moisture content to keep the meatloaf tender.
  • Do not overmix the chicken mixture because it can make the texture firm.
  • Swiss cheese gives the most traditional cordon bleu flavor, but mozzarella or provolone also works well.
  • Let the meatloaf rest before cutting to prevent the cheese from spilling out.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Individual slices can be frozen and reheated for quick meals later.
