Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning adjust to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional, for extra heat
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt or to taste
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Fresh herbs optional, for garnish, such as parsley

Equipment

  • Skillet or frying pan
  • Wooden spoon or spatula
  • Measuring spoons
  • Grater (for Parmesan cheese)
  • Knife and chopping board

Method

  1. Melt Butter: In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  2. Add Cream: Pour in the heavy cream and stir. Bring it to a gentle simmer, ensuring it doesn’t boil.
  3. Season: Add the Cajun seasoning, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine and allow the sauce to simmer for about 3-5 minutes, thickening slightly.
  4. Add Cheese: Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and let it melt into the sauce. Continue simmering for another 2 minutes, stirring frequently.
  5. Finish with Lemon Juice: Squeeze in the lemon juice and stir to combine. Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning as needed.
  6. Serve: Remove from heat and serve over your favorite dish, such as pasta, grilled chicken, or shrimp.
