Ingredients
  

  • 1 medium head of green cabbage chopped
  • 1 large onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 medium carrots sliced
  • 4 cups vegetable or chicken broth

Method
 

  1. Prep Vegetables: Wash and chop cabbage, dice onion, mince garlic, and slice carrots evenly.
  2. Sauté Aromatics: In a skillet, heat olive oil or butter over medium heat. Add onions and garlic, cook 3 minutes until soft and fragrant.
  3. Add to Crock Pot: Transfer sautéed onions and garlic to the crock pot. Add chopped cabbage and carrots.
  4. Season and Pour Broth: Sprinkle in salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme. Pour broth over vegetables and stir gently.
  5. Cook Slowly: Cover and cook on low for 4–6 hours or until cabbage is tender. For high setting, cook 2–3 hours.
  6. Add Toppings: Before serving, sprinkle fresh parsley, crispy bacon bits, or grated cheese if desired.
  7. Serve: Enjoy warm as a side dish or a main meal with rice, potatoes, or protein of your choice.
