Method
- Cut avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.
- Mash the avocados with a fork or potato masher to your desired consistency.
- Add lime juice, red onion, tomato, garlic, and cilantro. Mix gently.
- Season with salt and pepper, and stir to combine. Adjust lime or seasoning as desired.
- If using jalapeño, fold it in carefully for extra heat.
- Serve immediately with tortilla chips or use as a topping for tacos and other dishes

Notes
- For extra freshness, make the guacamole just before serving to prevent browning.
- Adjust the spice level by adding more or less jalapeño.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container with a thin layer of lime juice on top to slow oxidation.
