Ingredients

  • 1 bag of frozen mixed vegetables or any frozen vegetable of choice, such as broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, or green beans
  • 1-2 tablespoons olive oil optional
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Additional seasonings e.g., garlic powder, paprika, lemon zest, etc., depending on preference

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Spray bottle or brush (optional, for oil)
  • Bowl (for seasoning)
  • Tongs or spatula (for shaking or flipping the vegetables)

Method

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and allow it to preheat for 3-5 minutes to ensure even cooking.
  2. Prepare the Veggies: Place the frozen vegetables in a bowl, and lightly coat them with oil. Season with salt, pepper, and any additional spices you like.
  3. Arrange in the Basket: Spread the seasoned vegetables in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring there is enough space for air circulation.
  4. Air Fry: Cook the vegetables for 10-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even crisping.
  5. Check and Serve: Once the vegetables are crispy and golden, remove them from the air fryer. Let them cool for a minute before serving.

Notes

  • Don’t Thaw the Veggies: There’s no need to thaw frozen vegetables before cooking them in the air fryer. They cook perfectly straight from the freezer.
  • Seasoning Options: Get creative with your seasoning. Try Cajun, garlic and herbs, or even a sweet chili sauce for added flavor.
  • Vegetable Varieties: This method works for a wide variety of frozen vegetables, including sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts, green beans, and corn.
  • Cooking Times Vary: Different vegetables may require slight adjustments in cooking time. Check for crispiness and tenderness before removing them from the air fryer.
  • Storage: Leftover veggies can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. Reheat in the air fryer to bring back their crispy texture.
